Amaya suppressed a snort at Ash’s affronted “Hey!”, half hiding her smile behind the rim of her glass.
“I might be chill on the exterior, but believe me, I’m screaming on the inside,” she replied, her expression slipping into something eerily serious before shifting into her previous, equally genuine smile.
“Also, I’m not one to judge, but about that artichoke and olive pizza…”
---
Time flew, and before she knew it it was already approaching midnight.
“You guys mentioned a meet up at the park around now? If I’m still invited, I’d love to come,” Amaya said, leaning forward and stretching her stiff muscles while shooting a glance at Em.

Emeline laughed at her comment, before chattering away about something else.
It seemed like time really did fly when one was having fun, and before they knew it, it was midnight. "Of course you're welcome to join," Eme grinned, "though I'll warn you ahead of time, our friends are...chaotic sometimes. Don't feel like you need to do anything you're not comfortable with, all right?"
She was grabbing her leather jacket, swinging it across a shoulder as she glanced to Ash. "Hurry up," she gave him a look, "please don't tell me you lost your keys again because I'm not rescuing you this time."
"Yeesh, they're on the kitchen counter," he rolled his eyes, as he grabbed a hoodie, pulling on his high tops and rushing out the door before Emeline slammed it on him. "Come on, Maya," he grinned, "you ever gone to a bonfire party? Not that I'm planning on burning anything down but..." He gave her a mischievous grin.
