Bea couldn't hide the pride in her expression at Eme's obvious appreciation for her shop. Even though she'd grown up working there, she was still sensitive about it. Everything had always been her parent's decisions, so if they didn't work or looked bad, that was on them. Now, though, everything about the shop was her responsibility, and the idea of Eme liking it made her cheeks flush.
"I can definitely help you pick something hardy out! Unless you're actively poisoning them, a bunch of these palms are a hardy bunch." She motioned with her hand to the tall stand of greenery, coincidentally, to their left. "They're great for adding some verticality to your place without a lot of bulk getting in the way."
She glanced around, and decided to take Eme over to the cut flowers next. "I mainly deal with weddings and funerals and proms and such, so most of my stock are cut flowers," she said, giving an slightly apologetic shrug. "I only just started keeping potting plants recently, since they've come into fashion and, honestly, seeing them in the store makes me happy."
She hesitantly pulled a lily out of one of the plastic containers they were kept in and held it out to Eme. "It's called a stargazer lily," she offered, feeling every bit the fool. "I, uh, thought you might like it." The flower was a vibrant pink with darker speckles of the same color, ringed with green leaves. "Anyway," she added hastily, motioning towards the back counter, where a large set of coolers kept the finished bouquets ready for pick up. "These are my orders for the day. I try to get them done early, so I have time to change them if I notice anything wrong."
She motioned with her arms at the shop which, despite being quite small, was packed with a variety of fragrant, colorful flowers. "That's pretty much it. My place is upstairs, but I figure we can get takeaway and eat it up there? Or if you wanna do something different that's fine too!"
